Scouts This Week

Hi 5th Mildura Scouts & Families,

Here are a few things that everyone need to know for Scouts this week.

Scouts Tonight - Tour of the Mildura Police Station (Wednesday 15/6/11 - Organised by Chloe Manger)
Start: 7:30pm at the 5th Mildura Scout Hall as usual.
Finish: 9:30pm pick-up at the front of the Mildura Police Station.
Uniform: Full uniform please. Bring a warm jacket, as we will be walking from our hall to the Police Station.

Parent Help to Chop Wood Tonight
Would it be possible for a couple of parents to chop some of the wood, which is stacked in the back yard, and place it in the scout trailer. We are cooking a hot meal for the scouts on Saturday night of the Bike-Hike (this weekend) and I believe that wood is fairly scarce where we are going.

Bike-Hike is THIS WEEKEND!
Please let me know tonight if you are planning on coming on the bike-hike camp this weekend. I need to know numbers for catering on Saturday night.

Attached is the handout for the Bike-Hike which was given out last Wednesday night (slightly amended). Also attached is a Health Form which must be filled in and returned to me on Friday night (when we met at the Hall for the Bike-Hike, or out at the Friday night camp spot, if you are going there directly).


Starts:

Friday June 17th, Meet at 6:00pm at the 5th Mildura Scout Hall. Depart the Hall by 6:30pm. (Scouts to arrange car-pooling) We will be taking the scout trailer for the transport of bikes and gear.


Finishes:

Approximately 3pm Sunday at the John Douglas Scout Centre at Nichols Point. (Exact time will be advised to Parents by text message).


Cost:

$5.00 for a hot camp oven dinner on Saturday night.

If you are not getting text messages and emails from me, please let me know. If you are getting too many, also let me know!!

BUNNINGS BBQ THIS WEEKEND!
Apologies for the late notice.

5th Mildura have a Bunnings BBQ this weekend from 9am to 3pm. This is a fantastic fund raiser for the Group as it helps pay a few of our major bills for the year. As the Scouts and Scout Leaders are away on the Bike-Hike this weekend, I am calling on the help of parents and Venturers to give up an hour or two of your Saturday to help run the BBQ.

I also need someone to manage the opening and closing of the BBQ as Max is working on Saturday. Max has already arranged the float, sausages, bread, etc.
