8th APR Scout Photo Contest 2010 - Our Jaimie is a Winner! CONGRATULATIONS

Scouts Australia is proud to announce that Jaimie Rodd has been awarded Bronze Prize in the 8th APR Scout Photo Contest for his photo "National Tree Day". Congratulations Jaimie!!!

The APR received a total of 125 entries for this year's contest. In March, a panel from a major photography club in the Philippines pre-selected the 15 best photos to be entered for the final selection. These photos were then forwarded to the Scout Association of Japan for final judging by a panel of renowned Japanese photographers headed by Mr Takeyoshi Tanuma, President of the Japan Professional Photographers Society.

Jaimie will receive the Bronze Prize trophy and an XBox courtesy of Mr Shinya Mizuta, Chairman of the APR Scouting Profile Sub-Committee. Jaimie's photo will be used in the Asia-Pacific Region's regular publications including promotional posters and the 2011 calendar.

Jaimie is a Crew Leader with Marcus Blount Rover Crew (2nd Mildura) and an Assistant Scout Leader with 5th Mildura. He is involved with Sunraysia Gang Show, and was an official JNN photographer at AJ2010, the 22nd Australian Jamboree. You can view more of Jaimie's work, including photos from AJ2010, on his official Facebook page.

Scouts Australia would also like to congratulate the other Australian entrants in the competition - we were greatly impressed by the quality of the photos submitted this year. Keep up the good work!

See all the photographs submitted not only by Jaimie but by all Australian entrants. Not only do they feature Nathan and Courtney, but Mariah, Bridget and our leader Steve are also the subjects of Jaimies' photos.
