ANZAC Day March, Monday 25th April 2011

ANZAC Day March Monday 25 th April 2011 Sunraysia District Scouts have again been asked to assist in the Mildura ANZAC Day march on Monday 25 th April 2011. All sections of Scouting are invited to participate in this special day! What’s happening: Joey Scouts & Cub Scouts To meet at Henderson Park (cnr Deakin Ave & 13 th Street) at 10.30am. Joeys Scouts & Cub Scouts (and their Leaders) to hand out "Order of Service" sheets and to form a Guard of Honour in 13 th Street. Scouts, Venturers, Rovers & Leaders To meet at the corner of Deakin Ave & 8 th Street at 10.15am to assist with the carrying of the various flags & banners and participate in the march to Henderson Park. All Scouting personnel are to be in FULL & CORRECT UNIFORM! The march will leave from the corner of Deakin Ave & 8 th Street at 11.00am sharp and march down Deakin Ave to 13 th Street & Henderson Park. The ANZAC Day ceremony will then commence on arrival.

Venturing Skills Camp - April 9 & 10, 2011.

What is it:  Venturing Skills Camp is the first award a venturer must gain on the path to their Queen's Scout Award. The camp will test your knowledge and ability in camping, bush walking (orienteering) and first aid. All the things you learnt while in Scouts. You will also be asked to explain the  Venturer  Award Scheme. When:  Friday Night 8th April (optional), Saturday 9th and 10th of April 2011 Where : Cowra Station, Victoria. Cost:  Nil. Camp is self-catered. Bring: Pack for a lightweight hiking trip. Good hiking shoes, hat, water bottle, sun screen, mosquito repellent, light weight food and gear. Health Form:  Download  here  . Fill it in, bring it to the camp and give it to a leader.

District Fundraiser :: Easter 100 Ski Race Car Parking Roster 2011

Hi Scouters, Sunraysia District Scouts have again been asked to assist with the Mildura Easter Ski 100 boat races. Our tasks this year will be:        - Overseeing the public car park        - Overseeing the competitors car & boat parking        - Assisting at both gates to hand out wrist bands (no money h andling)        - Tractor driving to load & unload boats (5 experienced tractor  drivers required each day)        - Duty boat operations (2 persons & boats required each day) This is a major fund raising activity for the District and your assistance  is need to fill the vacancies on the attached roster. If you can assist on either the Saturday or Sunday for either the morning or  afternoon session (or whole day) that would be fantastic and please let me  know by this Sunday night (3 April 2011). I have a meeting with the organisers on Tuesday and they have requested to  know our roster is pretty much organised. Many thanks & hope to hear back from y

5th Mildura Cubs are Recommencing on May 2, 2011

News Flash: The 5th Mildura Cub Pack will be recommencing on May 2, 2011 (2nd week of Term 2 in Victoria). The new Cub Leader is Kerri Retallick. Come along on Monday May 2 and give Cubs a try! Who Can Join: Cubs is for boys and girls aged 7.5 to 10.5 years old. When Will Cubs Meet: Cubs meets every Monday night during school term from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. What Does It Cost: First 3 nights are FREE to try it out! Then it costs $300 per year, or $75 per term. Registration Fee = $140 per year (Scouts Australia - Victorian Branch. Membership, insurance, etc). Group Fee = $80 per year (This covers the running costs of our hall. Power, gas, water, rates, building insurance, maintenance, etc). Pack Fee = $80 per year (This goes to the Cub leader for purchasing of equipment and materials used in weekly activities). Where Is The Hall: 8 The Centreway, Mildura (see map below).
