Sunraysia District Raft Regatta 2009

Location of Activity: Buxton's Bend, Nangiloc / Colignan Dates of Activity: 13/3/09 to 15/3/09 Cost: $0.00 (self-cater) Must have a pre-made cut, non-cooking lunch for Saturday. Transport Arrangements: Depart: Scout Hall, 6:00pm. Car Pooling Return: Pickup from Buxton's Bend at 1:00pm Maps available on request. Scouts need only scarf to travel to and from activity. There will be swimming. Leader in Charge of Activity: Steven Munro Emergency Contact During Activity: Noel Whitchurch Refer to the Activity Information Form handed out last Wednesday night (25th Feb) for telephone numbers. Refer also to the handout for the Personal Gear Memory Jog. All gear must be clearly marked with the owner's name. No responsibility will be taken for any lost property. If you have, or can get a Life Jacket please bring it, we only have 16 for the Troop. Shoes, Life Jacket, Hat, T-Shirt & Water Bottle are compulsory while on the raft!

Our second fundraiser for AJ2010 this year involves Hot Cross Bun. Order forms were handed out on Wednesday night (25th Feb) at Scouts. If you were not there, ask a leader for a form.

Last Call - Final Gang Show Audition

The Production Team will be holding the final audition for this years cast next Tuesday night. All Scouts, Venturers, Rovers, Guides & Ranger Guides are invited to be part of this year's Show. Date: Tuesday 3rd March 2009 Time: 6.30pm to 8.30pm Location: Nichols Point Scout Hall Dress: Scout or Guide uniform Everyone must audition to be in the Show (so we can see where to cast you in each item) and no-one will be accepted after this audition. 2009 Mardi Gras Parade

By now everyone should know about the Mardi Gras parade, flyers were delivered to all Group 2 weeks ago.But just in case you missed out on a flyer here are all the details again. All Scouting & Gang Show Cast & Crew (& families) are invited to be part of this years Mardi Gras Parade! This is an excellent opportunity to promote both Scouting & Gang Show in this fabulous community event!! UPDATE...Raft Regatta - Moved to the following weekend

The District leaders have decided to move the Raft Regatta a week later, that is March 13,14,15. There were too many leaders going to be away and it lets everyone have the long weekend free. It also gives us one more week to test and make the rafts look awesome. We hope this does not cause too much inconvenience. Steven

SUNRAYSIA DAILY, Wednesday 18/02/2009 GOOD CAUSE: Darcy Cooke and Louis Russell from the 5th Mildura Scouts have been raising money in Langtree Mall for the bushfire appeal.

Bushfire Relief Appeal

Scouts from the 5th Mildura Scout Group helped to collect donations in the Langtree Mall yesterday for the Victorian Bushfire Appeal. The Scouts, a Venturer from 2nd Mildura, and two Rovers from the Marcus Blount Rover Crew, rattled collection tins from 9am to 1pm. A final count of the money collected by the Scouts is expected to be in excess of $1,000. Also collecting in the Mall for the same cause were the CFA and Salvation Army. Total money raised in the Langtree Mall yesterday is expected to be in the vicinity of $5,000.
